Home made spindle sander

I cut out some parts for my miniature Bow-Saw project and realized it was tricky to sand the curves to a smooth finish. So I mounted my drill in a old stand and attached a drum sanding bit in the chuck. To create a surface to work from, I drilled a hole a piece of pine just larger that the sanding drum and lowered the drum into it just below the surface. The pine is fixed to the base with double sided sticky tape. I was able to achieve nice smooth curves on the maple pieces.
